  • Ken Miele

    Ken first performed professionally on the Ray Heatherton Radio Show in New York at the age of 10, playing the piano and singing. Since then it has been nonstop performing across the country.

    Kenny was inducted into the Western Swing Hall of Fame on October 2nd 2016.

  • Doug cohen

    Bassist and one of the original founding members of the band. Born and raised in NYC started the MARKO PUPPET Theatre with Craig Marin of the Flexitoon Puppets in 1971, and toured the country for three years. As a member of the 3-D Apparition Theatre, director Ken Jacobs, he was able to audition in NYC for John and Yoko Lennon, the theatre was hired that night. Doug started working with Nicholas Ray as a 35MM cinematographer and assistant director while a student at SUNY Binghamton in upstate NY. While filming a movie with Nick in Texas he met Ray Benson and was inspired to form a band with Ken Miele.

    Cousin Cricket was created and began playing in Nevada County, most of Northern CA & Reno. With over 30 years of playing clubs Doug has developed a unique sound. As a member of many local bands Catch of the Day, Shay Dillon Blues Band, Petty Cash and the Herbin' Cowboys his true love is being a member of the Cousin Cricket Band. Doug was inducted into the Western Swing Hall of Fame on October 2nd 2016.

  • PauL kraushaar

    Paul Kraushaar started his musical journey early in life and has never stopped pursuing his craft.Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the midst of the music boom of the late sixties, Paul was inspired by the sounds of the day and had to join in.

    At the age of nine Paul began with drum lessons, followed by guitar and piano. He later became a music major throughout his academic years, studying music theory, harmony and composition. Eventually receiving an honorary masters degree in the recording arts.

    While in high school he went pro by performing locally with numerous groups in bars, clubs and social functions. Years before being of legal age. One of Paul’s teachers in high school just happened to be the piano player in the band Cousin Cricket. ( Western Swing Hall of Fame ) Paul’s teacher got him an audition with the band who needed a drummer. Passing the audition, Paul (the kid) hit the road and fifty years later he’s still in the band and going strong.

    Along with performing with Cousin Cricket, Paul also toured with multiple major label acts including the hit groups The Association, Steel Breeze and Maya.

    In-between live performances Paul built his reputation in the recording studio first as a session player and later as an engineer and producer. He started his own record label (Para-Sight Records) in the late 80’s with the release of grammy nominated LP “Cry Thunder” by Steel Breeze and he is still releasing records to this day.

    Currently Paul operates his recording studio ( PSR Recording ) in Grass Valley, CA . As a songwriter , composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, engineer and producer his days are filled honing his skills by working with artists from around the world.

  • Christi Colombo

    Christi Colombo delights in singing a wide array of musical genres, but she particularly cherishes the opportunity to belt out soulful jazz and blues melodies as a Cricket. She is an old soul who was raised on music spanning from the roaring 20s to the swinging 60s. She has been on stage since childhood. As a fourth-generation performer, she inherited a passion for the stage from her family, and now, she proudly carries on this tradition with her own children. “Singing with a band this good, is a dream”

  • Heidi Grass

    Heidi’s life has been a whirlwind of performance and creativity—from early success in TV (including a Cable Ace award) to a lifelong love of music, theater, and photography. She comes from a wildly talented family of artists, musicians, and even a rollerskating vaudevillian. A professional photographer for over 20 years, Heidi has traveled the world and lived at sea. Now back near her birthplace of Placerville, she’s reignited her passion for performing with local groups like Sierra Theatre Company, Off Broadstreet, and Kenny & the Crickets.
